At GivebackNC, we believe everyone has the power to make a difference. Our mission is to help people discover their passion and turn it into action through meaningful volunteer opportunities and community service.
GivebackNC was inspired by Josie’s Blessing in a Box, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has grown from a single blessing box into a network of 15 blessing boxes across North Carolina, providing food and essential items to individuals and families facing food insecurity.
Founder Josie Perdue leads by example, showing how one idea can create lasting impact. Her journey of starting a blessing box at a young age inspired her to write The Blessing Box on Hoover Street, a children’s book that encourages young people to recognize needs in their communities and take action.
Through GivebackNC, Josie travels to schools and community organizations sharing her story and promoting the GIVE Youth Initiative, which empowers students to discover their unique talents, passions, and ways to serve others.
